Cherry Blossom and Butterfly Printed Sashiko Panel on White 100% cotton – approx 10″ square – original design

In stock

This is a digitally printed panel of 100% white cotton with an original Sashiko design in an approximately 10″ square. It is printed in a pale grey so that when you have completed the work any stitches that may not be covered completed will not be seen. Unlike some Sashiko panels this ink will not wash off or iron off and with the ink being of a pale grey colour they can be seen easily to sew, yet not be noticeable when complete. It can be done in one single colour or as many different colours as you wish. A great way to introduce yourself to the art of Sashiko and trust me it can get a little addictive.
Sashiko is an ancient form of stitch work that originated in Japan, traditionally used as a way of mending farmers and fishermen’s clothing it used the original indigo dyed clothing and a white or off white thread. Now it has become a fashionable way of embellishing any sewing that you do, from bags to cushions, lampshades to bedspreads and much more besides. It is made up of a simple running stitch that is done as evenly as possible for better effect, The more you do the more even your stitches will become.
In with the panel is full instructions on how to complete the panel and if you do come across any problems then you may always email me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Happy Stitching
