Description
Sashiko is an ancient form of Japanese mending made up of lots of running stitches sewn together into designs. These days it is used more decoratively becoming very popular and sometimes even more elaborate. The design on these placemats is one of the more traditional ones done onto something that we use today.
This kit makes 2 Navy placemats and included in the kit is – tops with design drawn on , thermalam wadding, backing fabric, cotton Sashiko thread, needle and template. The design is drawn on in heat erasable pen and so do not iron until you have finished sewing the Sashiko design.
