Description
This is a kit to make 4 Sashiko grid coasters with a gold metallic thread going across diagonally to the grid to give contrast and depth. Sashiko was originally an ancient form of mending from Japan. More recently it has become very popular in many different ways from fashion to homeware, here it is being used to decorate your Japanese cotton backed coasters tying the whole look together.
Included in the kit is everything you need to make 4 coasters ( excluding some ordinary sewing thread to go room once Sashiko complete – Plain cotton fronts, blue and gold Japanese cotton backing, thermalam, blue and gold embroidery floss, Sashiko needle, templates and instructions.
