Description
This is a kit to make 1 Christmas tree cushion cover. It is primarily blue in colour but has white and silver as it’s second colours and all the fabrics are 100% cotton A great addition to your Christmas decorations and something to be bought out year after year. Made using the stitch and flip method for the tree itself the rest of the cushion is built up from strips of coordinating fabrics to finish the square front. It is then backed with wadding and you can then add as much or as little quilting as you desire. The cushion has a simple envelope backing to make it easy to remove your cushion pad for washing and storing for the next year. Lastly the front is finished off with some matching buttons. There are some buttons in the kit but feel free to add some more of your own, maybe they could be something from an old top or cardigan that hold treasured memories, a great way to keep your memories and not lose sight of the past. The added decoration each kit comes with 2 charms – a handprint handmade and a snowflake charm which can be sewn on to the tree.
The kit itself comes with everything you need to make the cushion cover except for a reel of cotton. All the fabrics, wadding, calico and buttons are included along with the comprehensive instructions themselves, which you could go on to make more cushions using your own stash. A great gift if you are looking for something a bit different either made or bought as a kit to give so that the recipient can do it themselves ( you never know they may even make you one using their stash, if you’re lucky)
I demonstrated this cushion on Sewing Street on 14th August 2021 and so if you want to watch that to help then you should be able to find it on YouTube.
Happy Stitching
